Our adaptive class operates a vibrant business called Alight candle company , where students craft one-of-a-kind candles. Through Alight candle Co., students gain valuable hands-on experience while developing important life skills such as communication, creativity, self-confidence, and problem-solving. The program immerses students in every aspect of running a business, from managing inventory and overseeing cash flow to refining their candle-making techniques and design skills. Twice a year, we host Enterprise Showcases, where students from various adaptive and employment prep programs, including Alight Candle Co., proudly display their creations. These lively events, often held at local high schools like White Oak and Jacksonville High School, offer a special opportunity to celebrate our students' hard work and talent. The proceeds from Alight Candle Co. directly benefit our EC Department, supporting a wide range of educational activities. These funds help provide essential supplies, organize fun events like pizza parties, and offer enriching field trips and other opportunities for growth.
