How is my child's grade level determined?
Students are placed in a grade based on the number of credits they have according to the scale below (exceptions outlined below):
9th Grade: 0-5 credits
10th Grade: 6-11 credits
11th Grade: 12-13 credits (students with more than 13 credits and in their 3rd year of high school will continue to be categorized as 11th grade.)
12th Grade: 14+ credits (all students within 8 credits of graduating and in their 4th year of high school will be categorized as 12th grade.)
How are half credits (0.5) handled?
Students may have half credits transferred in, we do try to combine some to provide as many full credits as possible for a seamless transition. For example, some school systems assign .5 credit for health and .5 credit for PE. This would be transferred in as 1.0 credit of Health and PE to satisfy that graduation requirement.
Who is eligible for Dual-Enrollment?
Dual-Enrollment is split into two departments: College Transfer and CTE. To be eligible for the college transfer courses (i.e. ENG111, MAT171, BIO111) a student
